One of my favorite Bible verses and one I think we all should memorize is 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV), which says, The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
It astonishes me when I meditate on the many opportunities God gives us to get in step with Him and His eagerness to re-establish the pure, sinless, fellowship He designed us for from the beginning of Creation. This is the very reason why “Our Father which art in heaven” (Mt. 6:9 KJV) “so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16 KJV) and “… God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Co. 9:8 NIV)
God wants the best for you. That’s what God says in Isaiah 1:18-20 (NIV):
18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
you will be devoured by the sword.
”For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Prayer: I ask, “Father God, in the name of your Son, Jesus, that each person who reads this devotional will be blessed today and have hope in all they set their hands to do to honor You. I ask that Your children will be in fellowship with You and with each other. That their local church will be a place of healing for those that are hurt and a place of blessing for all. I ask that Your children will experience Your supernatural work through Jesus Christ, God’s gift to mankind. Amen.”
