Banquet

God is. God knows. God acts. God gives. God provides. God loves. God saves. These truths are in conflict with the fabric from which our society is built. So, the nature of the world is foreign to the nature of God. Every time we touch the world we engage in a battle that’s been roiling for millennia.

God did not instigate this war. Hell was never intended for the progeny of Adam. A cursed creation, the separation of humanity from their Creator, the shame of sin, these were never God’s intent, yet they were no surprise, either.

Don’t be misled by this battle. Yes, it is between God and his enemy but not because God is unable to defeat evil. No, this never has been the case. Rather, God has allowed this battle for our good; for the salvation of all that would answer His invitation to “Come” throughout the time established by God for mankind; the time called “Today.”.

God desires a full banquet. From what I understand, He delayed His judgment so as many as will can be blessed with restoration, regeneration, and resurrection. We are the invited. Every person that has ever lived is welcome if they accept God’s invitation, put on their banqueting clothes and come. We, as ambassadors of Jesus, go out into the highways and byways of this world to deliver their invitation. And those that accept God’s invitation are brought into the Church, the Body of Christ, to prepare them, to get them dressed for the marriage supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19:6-9).

We see this in Christ’s parable of the Great Banquet, found in Luke 14:23 (NIV), “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full…”

Selah – Think on these things.
