Today, during my prayer time, I believe the Spirit of God impressed on me to write a few words about Rock Excavation Service (RES). Don’t worry. I’m not asking for money. 🙂
Something you may not know is that wherever you’re reading this, there are at least two other groups that also are joining with you in our times of prayer and devotions.
The three places that people join together are:
rockexcavationservice.org
rockexcavationservice.wordpress.org
Facebook.com/rockexcavationservice
Every day, these sites carry the same message. Then why, you may rightly ask, do I post to three sites? Well, these devotionals started when I set up a free account on WordPress.com.
It’s All About Jesus
God laid on my heart the need to communicate Jesus. Some exceptional Internet bloggers write excellent, edifying articles about Jesus. Still, there are so many Christian sermons, devotionals, and blogs that talk about Christian stuff, but rarely if ever, focus on Jesus. They don’t tell people that their salvation begins with Jesus and continues in Jesus.
I wanted a place where people could find “Christ in Christianity.” As written in the Bible, in 1 Corinthians 10:4 (ESV), “and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.” Jesus is the Rock, the stone that the builders rejected (Acts 4:11). So I named this site Rock Exaction Service because I wanted to dig through all the “nice to have” stuff and present the Truth, the “must-have,” which is Jesus.
RES began its life on the Internet as a WordPress site. Then my wife asked why I didn’t post the devotionals on Facebook; she has several successful Facebook pages. So, I set up a page on Facebook. That’s how the RES Facebook page was born.
Now, if that wasn’t enough, RES got the “rockexcavationservice.org” domain name. Since, at that time, I was experimenting with Amazon AWS, I set up the new domain on a WordPress site hosted on AWS Lightsail. It worked out quite well. And that’s how RES ended up with its third site. I have tried to consolidate them, but it’s never worked. Each group likes its website, which is fine.
Thanks For Joining Me On This Excavation
There are now well over 400 unique devotionals available on the Rock Excavation Service. The Lord willing, I will continue writing one each day. I pray that you find a few that bless you and lead you to an even closer walk with Jesus. Thanks for joining me on this journey of excavation and discovery.
