Between My Ears

A pic full of rocks with a question mark painted on one of them

This is where I add notes and thoughts as I study the Bible. Please feel free to comment.

If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Romans 12:18

Growing up, I was a rough and tumble kid. For each injury I could hear my dad’s words, “walk it off.” Walking the pain off helped. It didn’t heal my injuries, but it did help both my pain and my attitude. But as you know, the things that hurt the worst are emotional injuries, whether inflicted by others or self-inflicted.

Being an introvert, I’ve always internalized everything. And my replay reel works perfectly. But I’ve found help in this verse from the apostle Paul, probably because he didn’t play the “be perfect” card. He knows that it is difficult to let go. If you’re reading to find some deep insight, I have none other than my dad’s words: Walk it off.
