Great at Multiplication

The Japanese have a fascinating way of doing multiplication using straight lines. You can see a youtube video demonstrating their technique here:

Of course, Jesus has a way better multiplication technique than the Japanese or anybody. We can read about His multiplication in Matthew 15:33-38 (NIV): His disciples answered, “Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?” “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.“Seven,” they replied, “and a few small fish.” He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was four thousand men, besides women and children.

  • His disciples said “Where could we get enough…in this remote place…?”
  • Jesus asked, “How many …do you have?”
  • Jesus “took … and gave thanks…”
  • Jesus “gave them to the disciples, and they in turn to the people…”
  • They all … were satisfied…”

Try that by drawing lines! Jesus is your multiplier! Ask and He will multiply the love you give to others. Ask and He will multiply your opportunities to share the gospel. In fact, whatever you plant He will multiply it, just like corn! You plant one seed and get back ears full of seeds. So, please be sure you’re planting the right things, things in the will of God because you will reap a harvest from whatever you sow.
