Love Covers

1 Peter 4:8 (ESV) Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

To “cover,” in Hebrew, often means to “forgive,” the idea being that of an offensive object which you bury or hide by putting something else over it; see, for example, see Psalm 32:1 and Psalm 85:2.
