Fight My Battles

I was listening to the praise song “Surrounded (Fight My Battles)” on YouTube. While listening, I read one of the comments.

I was Muslim and converted to being a follower of our lLord Jesus Christ..I prayed to God one time with all my heart and asked him to show me if he’s real then Jesus came into my life. The holly spirit is guiding me and I will start preaching in God’s name one day to bring this gift of true love and happiness to less fortunate and lost souls. Amen

The words of this song painted a picture in my mind about this Muslim man. He must have been surrounded by people telling him he was wrong, that he was going to hurt his family, that he should just “shush.” But between the throng that surrounded him, there was God surrounding him! That’s the God that we serve.

Though I am surrounded by troubles,
    you will protect me from the anger of my enemies.
You reach out your hand,
    and the power of your right hand saves me.
⁸ The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
    for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
    Don’t abandon me, for you made me.

In Jesus, we have real peace, real hope, real purpose. Remind yourself today, “If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)”
